Girls Regional Hoops

Two-time defending state champion Irvington's girls basketball squad earned its ticket to the state Class B Final Four with a 74-41 victory against Section 11's Southampton in a Class B state regional final at Farmingdale State College Saturday.

Marley Giddins led Irvington to the win with 23 points.

Practice Starts

Today is a big day for every spring sports squad in Section 1, including Dobbs Ferry, Hastings and Irvington, because it’s the day that all varsity and junior varsity teams start practice.

Mercy Women's Lax

The Mercy College women's lacrosse team fell to Holy Family last night (March 8), 15-14. Junior Julie Darnulc netted three late scores to tie the game up at 14-14; please follow the link here to the game recap for more details.

Mercy Baseball

The Mercy College baseball team fell to Pitt-Johnstown in the opening game of its Florida trip last night (March 8), 13-2. The Mavericks enjoyed some impressive pitching performances in spite of the score; please refer to the release here for further details.

Track & Field:

At the SUNYAC Track and Field Championship at Hobart on Feb. 26th, Geneseo won the day with 152 points. Helping the cause was Patrick Wortner (D.F. '09), with his 5th place finish in the men's 5,000, with a time of 15:23.84, and adding 4 points to the Blue Knights' total.

At the ECAC Championship at the Armory  3/2 and 3, the Geneseo team finished 18th of 60 schools entered, with Wortner finishing 23rd of 33 runners, with a clocking of 15:17.51.

Lacrosse:

Justin Figueroa (Ardsley '09) of Manhattanville saw action in his teams' 7-4 loss to guests Vassar on the 3rd, with the record now 1-1.
