Dobbs Ferry Youth Football is hosting an event on March 3rd at Doubledays on 83 Main Street. Dobbs Ferry will welcome the league's new president, Alan Straub, and vice president, Mike Valentin, while honoring the former heads of the league (Padraig Steinschneider and Gary Ferrari) for their many years of service.

The goal of the evening is to raise money for new equipment for the league starting with state of the art helmets to ensure safety of the kids. $100 at the door will include food and open bar from 8 p.m. till midnight as well as raffle entry for door prizes.

College news from Dick Miller

Basketball:

At New Paltz on the 14th, Junghoon Roh (Dobbs Ferry '08) of Plattsburg scored 5 points on a layup and 3 foul points, plus 3 boards and 1 assist in the game.

In a 79-72 win at Plattsburgh, Pippa Mansdorf (Hastings '10) of New Paltz scored a basket, and had 1 rebound and 1 steal in the win.

At Keene State on the 14th, Nick Nedwick (Irvington '08) of Eastern Ct. scored 10 points and had 6 rebounds, 2 assists, and a steal in the 65-62 victory.

Geneseo, in a game at Owego, lost to the Lakers, 67-56, with Ryan Riefenhauser (Dobbs Ferry '09) of the visitors scoring 7 points and having 2 assists in the game

Fencing:

At the Ivy League Championship, at Princeton on the 13th, Alexia Fishman (Ards. '10) defeated her Cornell opponents, 2-0.

Tennis:

Andy Catania (D.F. ‘09) and his St. Olaf tennis team topped Concordia-Moorhead on the 11th, 6-0, as he won his singles match, 6-3,7-6 (7-4), and his doubles duo also won theirs, 8-4.
