Genealogical Meeting - Did You Ever Ride the Ol’ Put?

The Westchester County Genealogical Society will be welcoming back Joe Schiavone with his talk A Fond Look Back at the Ol' Put on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at 10am. The meeting will take place at the Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 600 Broadway, Dobbs Ferry, New York which is across from Mercy College on route 9.

Joe Schiavone, author of several books on the "Old Put" and local railroad buff, will present all new material in this look back at the "Old Put," the nickname for the Putnam Division of the New York Central Railroad that ran through Putnam and Westchester counties from 1894 to 1951. A "Fond Look Back" includes all new materials, including video, of the "Old Put" in the late 1940's to the late 1950's. You don't have to be a train enthusiast to enjoy this multi-media presentation.
