The Westchester County Genealogical Society welcomes Joe Schiavone with a talk on The Ol' Put: History of the Putnam Division of the New York Central on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at 10am. The meeting will take place at the Aldersgate Methodist Church, 600 Broadway in Dobbs Ferry which is across from Mercy College on ...route 9.
Joe Schiavone, railroad historian and author of two books – "The Old Put" and "More of The Old Put" will takes us on an entertaining trip into the past. Once known as the North County Trailway, the Putnam Division Railroad wended its way from the Bronx to Putnam County. During part of this program, we will be viewing two vintage motion pictures depicting the trains and the picturesque stations that once were dotted along the tracks. You don't have to be a train enthusiast to enjoy this multi-media presentation.
