Pediatrics On Hudson The Parenting Series Monthly parenting seminars led by Lori Walsh, Pys.D. and Jennifer Altman, Ph.D. Fridays 9:30am -11am o April 6th - Navigating Social Media with your tween & teen We talk about the presence of social media in all of our lives and how to incorporate an understanding of its impact on our children’s development and social life into our overall parenting o May 4th & 18th - The Challenging Child* This discussion focuses on identifying the characteristics that can make some children seem to require additional parenting strategies and how to figure out the most effective ones for your family o June 1st – Family Stress Management We talk about identifying family stressors and developing strategies to both decrease stress levels and increase coping skills o July 6th & 20th – Buliding Healthy Relationships with Teens * We’ll talk about adolescent development and the challenges/opportunities it presents to adolescents, parent-child relationships and families, with an emphasis on parent development (and survival) o September 7th – Sleep: The Dream Helping your child develop healthy sleep habits can present temporary and/or long term challenges to families and we discuss the many approaches that exist. This seminar focuses on helping parents identify the sleep solutions that will work for you and your child o October 5th – Building Confidence in Ourselves as Parents This workshop talks about how to identify the patterns and thinking that shaped you as a parent, so that you can make conscious choices about the way you want to parent your children today * Double session seminar.
