Green Corn Festival [PHOTOS]

Philipsburg Manor event honors area's original inhabitants.

Philipsburg Manor in Sleepy Hollow hosts it's annual Green Corn Festival this weekend honoring the life and traditions of Native Americans in Colonial New York, and the settlers who came to the region.

The festival, which runs through today, takes place around the time of the first corn crop harvests--a time to give thanks and celebrate.

The festival offers Native American dancing presented by the Red Hawk Dancers, Native American cooking, craft making, wampum making and storytelling along with Manor House and Mill tours and food.
