Irvington High School students showcased their musical talents when they performed at the annual Bernard Kaplan Memorial Holiday Concert on Dec. 8 at the MetLife Building, located at Grand Central Station.
Members of the wind ensemble, under the direction of Debra Tuzman, and the choir, under the direction of Janet Gillespie, have been performing at the concert for several years.

“We are very fortunate that we are continually invited back,” Tuzman said. “Mrs. Judith Kaplan hand selects only a few ensembles every year to participate in the two-week series. Ensembles are invited back based on their performance from the year before.”
Tuzman commended the students for their dedication throughout the year as they prepared for the holiday concert.

“This is the busiest time in the MetLife Building, and it often draws a very large crowd,” she said. “The students worked very hard to prepare for this event. They did an amazing job.”
