Irvington Schools to Develop 5-Year Strategic Plan
The Board of Education is seeking volunteers to serve on a Strategic Planning Ad Hoc Committee that will play a crucial role in the process.

The Irvington School System will develop a strategic plan to map out its future, the district announced Monday.
“Together, we will be examining many facets of our district to develop a consensus on strategic plan elements for the next several years.” said officials in a statement. “Community participation is critical to the process.”
The Board of Education is seeking volunteers to serve on a Strategic Planning Ad Hoc Committee that will play a crucial role in the process. The committee will meet on four days: Tuesday, Nov. 24, Tuesday, Dec. 8, Wednesday, Jan. 13 and Friday, Feb. 5.

Members of the committee will collaborate with the strategic planning facilitator to analyze the results of the district’s public forums and surveys and review related school data. This is designed to support efforts in developing the five-year plan and revise the district mission statement.
All committee members are required to be present for all meetings.

The committee will be assembled “to reflect the constituent groups of our community.”

“We anticipate that more people will want to serve than we can accommodate, so we have organized this brief application to expedite the selection process,” said officials.
