The Keith Haring Foundation Funds Major Renovation and Expansion of Medical Clinic for Children

Children's Village, Keith Haring, nonprofit, grant

Dobbs Ferry, NY – July 29, 2016 – The Keith Haring Foundation awarded a $290,000 grant to The Children’s Village to fund a major renovation and expansion of the Keith Haring Medical Clinic on the Dobbs Ferry campus. The clinic was named the Keith Haring Medical Clinic in 2008 to honor the late artist’s many contributions as a volunteer at The Children’s Village, and to recognize the substantial annual financial gifts made in keeping with his last will and testament. The clinic’s foyer is colorfully adorned with authentic Haring murals that were Keith’s personal contribution to The Children’s Village campus.

“We are honored to be receiving this very generous grant from The Keith Haring Foundation, which has been a true partner to The Children’s Village since Keith’s passing. Keith understood our mission, and most important, he understood poverty, the disproportionate impact of race in child welfare, and he cared deeply about children and their families. We are excited to start work on making the Keith Haring Medical Clinic not only more beautiful, but also an advanced model of care for children,” said Dr. Jeremy Kohomban, President and Chief Executive Officer of The Children’s Village.

The Keith Haring Foundation’s donation, combined with other private dollars, makes it possible for The Children’s Village to further its goal of providing effective interdisciplinary care for children and families with complex behavioral, medical, and psychiatric needs.
