Fencing
Audra Fox (Ardsley '11), in the foil competition at the NCAA Northeast Regional meet at Boston College on the 11th, finished 14th out of 43 competitors, and will now move on to further action as a "wild card" at the National Championships, to be held at Ohio State from the 22nd through the 25th. Leah Mack (Irvington '10), competing on Epee, was tied for 17th place in that event at the same meet.

Softball
The Clark Cougars, switching their play to Worcester, Massachusetts, opened the regular season by sweeping a twin bill with Bridgewater State, 2-0 and 3-2.
In the first game, second sacker Stef Kettenacker (Hastings ’08) had a single and 1 strikeout, while in the night cap, she had 1-3, drove in a run, had 1 run batted in, and fanned once.
Tennis
In the opening match of the Spring season at Hilton Head, S.C. Jeremy Mancus (Irvington '09) and his Nazareth College tennis team lost to Macalaster of St. Paul, Minnesota, 7-2. He lost a hard fought singles match, 6-3, 4-6, 10-7, while he and his partner fell in their match, 8-5. In action with St. Mary's of Maryland on the 12th, he lost his singles match, 6-3, 7-5, and won his doubles match, 8-4.
On the 13th, against Heidelberg (Ohio), Nazareth prevailed, 6-3, as Mancus took his singles match, 8-6, and also the doubles event, 8-1. In an 8-1 loss to Shepard on the 15th, he dropped his singles, 6-2, 6-4, and also the doubles match, 8-6. In a 7-2 win over FDU-Florham, he won his singles match, 6-1, 6-0, and then his doubles match was another winner, 8-1.
In a match in Orlando on the 13th, Lisa Tessitore (Dobbs Ferry '10) and her Stevens Tech Ducks tennis squad, fell to the St. Lawrence Saints, 6-3, with the former Eagle performing outstandingly, topping her singles opponent, 6-2:6-3, after which her doubles twosome outplayed their foes, 8-3.
On the 14th, at the same venue, against Roger Williams, in a 6-3 victory, she won a hard fought singles, 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 while on the 15th on the same courts, against Skidmore, they bowed, 9-0, with Tessitore dropping her singles match, 6-4, 6-2.
Men's Lacrosse

Today (March 17), the Mercy College men's lacrosse team earned its first victory of the season versus East Coast Conference-opponent Wheeling Jesuit University, 10-7.
On the scoring front, junior Mike Marzocca (North Babylon, N.Y.), senior Sal Spinelli (East Islip, N.Y.), and sophomore Patrick Hodapp (Oak Ridge, N.J.) each scored a hat trick for the Mavericks.

Women's Lacrosse
Mercy College women's lacrosse team fell to Millersville University today (March 17), 17-10. Junior Julie Darnulc continued an impressive start to the season with four goals and two assists.
