Softball
Clark opened the 2012 season with two games on the 4th at Ft. Myers, FL, dropping the first to R.I.T. 4-2, as a 2-1 lead in the 7th and final frame ended, with a 3 run home run. The result spoiled the outstanding pitching job by a Cougar hurler, who went the distance and fanned 10 batters, and allowed no walks. Senior second baseman Stefanie Kettenacker (H '08) went 0-4 at bat and struck out once.

In the nightcap with Dominican of Illinois, they won, 4-2, with the Hastings player singling to right field for her team's 3rd run of the contest. On the 5th, they played another double header, this time with Wilmington in the a.m., won 8-4, as she batted 2-3, including a double, and scored a run.
Against Wittenberg in the matinee, in an 8-3 loss, she fanned once. The Cougars won 2 on the 6th, In an 11-0 win over Bethany Lutheran, Kettencker had 1-2, scored a run, had 1 r.b.i. and walked once.
Topping Penn State-Behrends later, 10-2, she went 2-3 and scored 1 run. On the 7th, facing Alverno of Wisconsin in the a.m. game, a 6-5, 8-inning win, she went 0 for 1 and walked once, while with Geneva of Pa. in the p.m. matchup in a 4-0 blanking, she had was 0-3 and struck out once.
Basketball
In the championship game between St. Thomas Aquinas and Dowling at Queens College on the 4th, Dowling won the game, 59-54, as Riley Harrington (Irv.'10) had 1 rebound in the contest. Her Falcons had a final record of 18-11.
Mercy Softball

The Mercy College softball team opened up its 2012 campaign with a split down in Florida -- a 2-0 win over Millersville, and a 5-3 loss to Wilmington of Delaware. In the first game, sophomore hurler Mary Sieber (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) pitched a complete game shutout, allowing just four hits and striking out four batter.

Mercy Women's Lacrosse
The Mercy College women's lacrosse team fell to No. 9 New Haven, 19-4, today (March 10). Junior Julie Darnulc had two assists to bring her season total to five and Alyssa Handel led the team with two goals, both unassisted.
