Hastings T-Ball

The Hastings Recreation Department is accepting registration for its Tee-Ball program for boys and girls in kindergarten.

If you haven't signed up your kid yet and are interested in having them participate, you can do so now by clicking on its website.

College News from Dick Miller

Baseball:

Southern New Hampshire is 6-0 after winning both games at Winter Haven on the 3rd, as they topped Mercyhurst in the a.m. contest, 6-5, with Greg Pezzuto (H'10) going 0 -1 as a pinch hitter. In the afternoon game with Felician, a 14-3 rout, he played right field late in the game, and went hitless at the plate.

In the Florida opener on the 3rd, Cortland blanked Penn St.-Altoona, 13-0, with D.H. Andrew Pezzuto (H'07) batting 0-3 and being hit by a pitch.

Mike Swerdloff (Ards.'10) picked up his first win of the season in the back half of two over Rose Holman on Feb. 24th in Winter Haven, FL., as he relieved the starting pitcher after the Brandeis Judges had scored 7 runs in the top half of the 6th frame. In 1.2 innings, the southpaw allowed 2 runs on 2 hits,  issued 1 free pass and fanned 1 batter, as he evened his spring training record to 1-1, with the team now 4-3.

At the Metrodome on Feb. 28th, the Carleton College Knights dropped a twin bill to Bethany Lutheran, 5-1 and 4-0. First baseman Kyota Gomi (Ards.'08) led his team in hitting, with 3-4, and had 2 putouts and 1 assist in the game.

At home with Mercy on the 2nd, the Pace Setters blanked their guests, 10-0, with Chris Romer (A'08) going 1-4, having 2 r.b.i., and having won sacrifice. 

Tennis:

The undefeated St. Olaf team (4-0) topped guests UW-LaCrosse on the 3rd, as Andy Catania (D.F.'09) won his singles match, 7-5, and his doubles twosome also won, 9-8.
