NYC Pair Had Counterfeit Money, Irvington Police Say

They are facing more than just the forgery charge.

IRVINGTON, NY - Two New York City residents were allegedly caught in Irvington Monday with counterfeit bills.

Troy Bjorntzen and Shaqueena Beard were stopped while speeding on South Broadway.

The vehicle was unregistered, uninsured and uninspected, police said.

During an impound inventory, police allegedly found counterfeit $100 bills.

Bjorntzen was allegedly driving while impaired by marijuana, police said.

Both were taken into custody charged with first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument.

Additionally, Bjorntzen was charged with driving while ability impaired—drugs.

Both were sent to Westchester County Jail on bail: Bjorntzen on $2,500 bail; Beard, $5,000.

Their next court appearance is scheduled for May 9, 2016.
