Pair Arrested On Thruway For Drug Possession: Police

One of them was sent to count jail without the possibility of bail.

ARDSLEY, NY — Two people were arrested on drug charges after a traffic stop on the Thruway. State police said troopers pulled over Caroline Natoli, 31, of Stamford, Delaware County, around 7:55 p.m. Sept. 6 on I-87 in the Village of Ardsley for a vehicle and traffic violation.

While interviewing her, troopers said they found probably cause to search the vehicle and its occupants.

During the search, police said passenger Richard T. Gantt, 34, of Oneonta, Ostego County, had about 31 grams of cocaine and 6 grams of marijuana.

Both Natoli and Gantt were taken into custody and processed at the Hawthorne barrack.

Gantt was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, with intent to sell, and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, narcotic drug, both felonies, and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.

Natoli was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and vehicle and traffic violations.

Gantt was arraigned in the Village of Ardsley Court and sent to the Westchester County Jail without bail.

Natoli was released on an appearance ticket and traffic tickets without further incident. She is scheduled to return to court Sept. 17.

No return court date was available for Gantt.
