Baseball

On the 12th, Pace dropped a 7-3 game to Stonehill, with Chris Roemer (Ardsley '07) of the Setters batting 1-4, fanning once, and having one stolen base. In an 11-1 win over C.W. Post at Orlando on the 13th, he had 2 hits, scored a run, had 2 r.b.i.'s, fanned once, and was charged with 1 error. At Rollins on the 14th, in a 4-3 loss, he had 1 hit and fanned once.

While in a twin bill with Post on the 15th, Roemer's bat was hot in the 10-4 win, as he went 2-3, including a 3 bagger, scored 3 runs, had 1 r.b.i., walked twice, gained first on an error, and had 1 faux pas in the outfield. With Stonehill again on the 17th, in the 6-1 loss, he went 3-5, had 2 r.b.i.'s. and 2 stolen bases.

At home with Cortland on the 17th, Purchase dropped an 11-1 game to the Red Dragons. In the game, Andrew Pezzuto (Hastings '07), the visitor's D.H. batted 1-3 , with 1 r.b.i., while in relief for the Panthers, Gary Riefenhauser (Dobbs Ferry '09) pitched 1 frame, giving up 1 run on 1 hit, and walked 1 batters.

In a game with Mt. St. Vincent, played in Bronxville, Pezzuto served both as pinch hitter and designated hitter in a 10-2 win over the Dolphins.

DiCarlo Shines Again

Mercy College junior goalkeeper T.J. DiCarlo (Farmingdale, N.Y.) was named to the Week Five Men’s Lacrosse East Coast Conference Player of the Week Honor Roll for the second time this season.

Mercy Standouts

Two Mercy College student-athletes were recognized in the ECC Weekly reports. Freshman Bryan Greig was named Rookie of the Week for baseball. Junior Julie Darnulc was named to the Honor Roll for women's lacrosse.

Mercy College Men's Lacrosse Game vs. Lake Erie Moved to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday 

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Mar. 20, 2012) - The Mercy College men's lacrosse game versus East Coast Conference-opponent Lake Erie College will now be played at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 24. The contest will be played at SUNY Purchase.

Head Coach Steve Manitta and the Mavericks are currently 1-3 on the season and 1-2 in the ECC. Most recently, Mercy defeated Wheeling Jesuit University in league play, 10-7, on March 17.
