Trio Leads Bulldogs

Led by the always reliable trio of Lexi Martins (17 points, 10 rebounds, four steals and three blocks), Brittni Lai (15 points, six assists and three steals) and Marley Giddins (11 points, 13 rebounds and four assists), two-time defending state champion rolled to a 56-35 triumph against Kennedy Catholic in the Section 1 Class B girls semifinals Feb. 28 at the Westchester County Center in White Plains.
Irvington will now play Blind Brook at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 3 for the sectional crown at the county center.

Dobbs Ferry Girls Hoops
Dobbs Ferry played in a classic Class B semifinal at the county center Feb. 28, falling to Blind Brook 69-66 in overtime.
Alyssa Chipelo led the Eagles with a game-high 26 points. Teammate Kristy Degener contributed 12 points and five rebounds.

Lacrosse:
Playing in the season opener at Manhattanville on Feb. 25th, Dan Cohen (Ards. '08) of the Mt. St. Vincent men's lacrosse team, in a 13-6 loss, scored 1 goal, had 2 assists, and made 4 shots in the contest.
Baseball:
In a game at Winter Haven, Fl. on Feb. 22nd, Mike Swerdloff (Ards. '09), southpaw hurler for the Brandeis Judges, started his first game of the Spring season with Augustana of Rock Island IL, and lasted two innings, during which time he gave up 7 runs and 7 hits, walked 1 batter, and fanned 3, in the 12-0 blanking, with he the losing pitcher.
In game 2 of a twin bill with Concordia at Myrtle Beach on Feb. 25th against West Virginia Wesleyan, a 4-3 victory, Greg Pezzuto (H '10) of Southern New Hampshire, pinched hit and fanned in his one turn at the plate.
