Saw Mill River Parkway Closures Expected In Greenburgh
There will be lane closures and, at times, full closure due to the construction.
GREENBURGH, NY — The state Department of Transportation has announced that the ongoing construction activities for Westchester County’s Ashford Avenue project will cause closures on the Saw Mill River Parkway. The closures will be between Exit 16 (Lawrence Street) and Exit 20 (Interstate 87 Northbound) beginning the evening of Wednesday, Sept. 6, and into the morning of Thursday, Sept. 7, while crews perform construction activities, weather permitting, in the villages of Dobbs Ferry and Ardsley.
The northbound Saw Mill Parkway between Exit 16 (Lawrence Street) and Exit 20 (Interstate 87 Northbound) will undergo a right lane closure between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. with a full closure expected begin at 10 p.m. and end at approximately 6 a.m. (For more information on this and other neighborhood stories, subscribe to Patch to receive daily newsletters and breaking news alerts.)
The left lane on the southbound Saw Mill River Parkway is expected to be closed between Exit 18 (Cyrus Field Road) and Exit 17 (Ashford Avenue), from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m.

Additionally, three brief stoppages are expected in this southbound location.
Northbound motorists should follow the posted detour, and all motorists should anticipate delays.

This is a Westchester County project, the DOT said. All inquiries related to this work and the closures should be directed to Westchester County at 914-995-2555.
Drivers are asked to use caution when traveling through the work zone area and pay particular attention to all traffic control devices, including signs and flaggers.
Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
