Sentence in Rape Attempt At The Graham School
A 19-year-old who tried to rape a woman at a residential school for disturbed youth gets prison and mandatory registration as a sex offender

HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, NY — A 19-year-old who tried to rape a woman at a residential school for disturbed youth has been sentenced to prison and mandatory registration as a sex offender. The attack occurred Nov. 25, 2015 at the Graham School, an educational and treatment center in Hastings.
Jaheim Murray was sentenced to 3 ½ years in state prison followed by seven years post release supervision. Murray will have to register as a sex offender upon his release from prison, Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino, Jr. said Tuesday.

- One count of Attempted Rape in the 1st degree
- Two counts of Sexual Abuse in the 1st
- Two counts of Strangulation in the 2nd
- Three counts of Criminal Obstruction of Breathing or Blood Circulation
An order of protection was issued on the victim’s behalf. The victim’s identity remains confidential. The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Kerrie Williams.
