'The English Teacher' Cast and Crew Shoot in Dobbs Ferry

Julianne Moore, Nathan Lane and others are shooting a movie in the Rivertowns.

If you've walked or driven through Dobs Ferry recently, you've undoubtedly seen the neon signs that read "English Teacher."

Follow them, and they'll lead you to 145 Palisade Street, where the cast and crew of The English Teacher are shooting various scenes in the upcoming movie.

"We choose the Dobbs Ferry area because it had a high school that was closing down and we could have access to for our office and shooting. As well the area serves as a very picturesque landscape which enhances the story telling for this film," said producer Bob Salerno. "The beautiful foliage up here adds an whole other level of production value to the film that we were looking for."

The film stars Julianne Moore, Nathan Lane, Lily Collins and Greg Kinnera.

According to variety.com—which producers say has the best information about the movie—the film "follows a high school English teacher Linda Sinclair (Moore) whose life is upended when a former star pupil returns to her small town after failing miserably as a playwright in New York."

Spokesmen remind residents that the film has a closed set, and they request that locals not try to photograph or catch glimpses of the stars while they're working.

Filming will continue over the next few weeks in the Rivertowns and Tarrytown/Sleepy Hollow.
