Mercy Golf Outing Raises $69K

Great weather coupled with the generosity of attendees helped The Friends of Mercy Medical Center raise $69,000 at their 29th Annual Golf Classic.

A crowd of 140 golfers enjoyed play at the Cherry Valley Club in Garden City, which was followed by a post-outing dinner that paid tribute to Stephen McLoughlin — vice president of Command Financial in Manhattan, long-time Rockville Centre resident and past president of The Friends — for his years of service to Mercy Medical Center and many other community organizations.

The proceeds from this year's event will support the acquisition of new state-of-the-art diagnostic cardiology equipment. Over the past five years, the Friends of Mercy Medical Center have raised nearly $1.5 million to support hospital facilities, including new digital mammography equipment in the Women's Imaging Center; enhancement of the medical center's emergency, trauma and express care facilities, and the 2006 completion of the hospital's state-of-the-art North Pavilion.
