South Nassau's Annual Carnation Ball

On Saturday, November 2nd, 2013, South Nassau Communities Hospital will hold its annual Carnation Ball at The Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury. This year’s event will celebrate South Nassau’s 86-year commitment to providing the gold standard of care to the more than 700,000 South Shore residents whom we serve.
This year’s Ball benefits the hospital’s Emergency Department Campaign and honors Harvey Weisenberg, New York State Assemblyman for District 20, and his lovely wife, Ellen. The retiring assemblyman has served his district at the state level since 1989, but has also had many, many years of service to the City of Long Beach as a police officer, PBA president and a member and president of the Long Beach City Council Throughout their lives, Harvey and Ellen have championed advocacy efforts for people with disabilities as well as children and the elderly.
The prestigious Mary Pearson Award will be presented to Robert Kramer, MD. Dr. Kramer has fulfilled the mission of the hospital for more than 30 years, most recently as its Assistant Medical Director and as Chair of the Department of Medicine and Director of Cardiology. Dr. Kramer will retire this year and it is fitting that his career work with South Nassau is honored with the Mary Pearson award.
