Suffolk-Based Gym To Open In Rockville Centre
Energy Fitness will hold a pre-sale event for its fifth facility at the former Lucille Roberts site on Oct. 23.

ROCKVILLE CENTRE — A Saint James-based gym with multiple locations on Long Island is preparing to open a new facility in the village, its first in Nassau County.
Energy Fitness expects to bring its personal trainer-oriented programs to the former site of Lucille Roberts, at 298 Sunrise Hwy., starting in December.
The building unit is currently under construction and will host a pre-sale event from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 23, when prospective members can sign up on a monthly basis with no contract required.

Energy Fitness was started in 2002 in Saint James and moved to its current building, at 555 North Country Rd., in 2010. After opening their largest gym in Fort Salonga in 2014, the owners established a pair of facilities in Miller Place in 2015 and Huntington in 2017.
Owners CEO Mike Tucci, his brother Trevor Tucci, and Michael Fox, head of operations have long wanted to open a gym in Nassau County and had eyed the Lucille Roberts space in Rockville Centre for about two years, said Kristin Gillespie, the gym’s marketing director.

“The owners said ‘Rockville Centre is so posh and up-and-coming and really suits our brand; it's the perfect home for our first in Nassau County,” Gillespie said.
Energy Fitness provides every member with a personal trainer and lifestyle coach with whom they meet at least once monthly and can otherwise check in through the gym’s app. The gym is a hybrid that has customized group classes incorporating HIT, spin, yoga and pilates. The new gym will feature three main rooms for group fitness, as well as free weights and machines.
"We changed our entire business model after COVID because we realized that in fitness, people really need that support and connection with a trainer," Gillespie said."Having that accountability really ensures that the client is staying on track with their fitness path regardless of where they are in their fitness journey."
