The Rye Y Wave Ryeders and their fans have much to celebrate this year. After finishing another undefeated season, the team emerged as the overall Westchester-Fairfield League champions for the 7th consecutive year. At the West Point meet, they won more divisions than ever before, sweeping the 8 and under division, 10 and under division, 12 and under division and 14 and under division.
The Wave Ryeders performance at the YMCA State Championships in Buffalo, March 16-18, surpassed all expectations and set several team records. “All the swimmers had a GREAT meet, achieving several personal bests,” said Kate Tiedemann, Rye Y Coach. For the first time ever, the team won both the 8 and under girl and boys division. They placed 3rd in the 10 and under boys division and best of all, placed 5th overall in the team division.
