The collected cans will be donated to the soup kitchen at St. Peter’s Church in Port Chester. Blind Brook schools already have a connection with St. Peter’s Church, as high school students run the soup kitchen there on Thursday nights throughout the school year.

The drive will run through Mar. 20, 2013 and has so far collected approximately 300 cans of soup. Students who bring in at least 10 cans of soup are invited to attend a pizza party, but the real reward for students is that they are helping members in their community.
