Ridge Street Kindergarten Students Search for Stars in Starlab Planetarium

Steve "The Dirtmeister" Tomacek taught kindergartners from Ridge Street School about constellations, the solar system and moon phases in his Starlab Portable Planetarium.

Kindergartners at Bruno M. Ponterio Ridge Street School in the Blind Brook School District attended workshops in the Starlab Portable Planetarium, where Steve “The Dirtmeister” Tomacek taught the students about some of the constellations, the solar system and moon phases.

The kindergarten students were shown how to find the three stars that make up Orion’s Belt, the four bright stars shaped in a square that constitute the Great Square of Pegasus and the Big Dipper. Each student was given a star map to take home so they could search the night sky on their own.
