Mingled Arts: The Art of Matisse - August 31-September 3

The Greenwich Art Society is excited to offer a very special end-of-summer experience that is unlike any other program we offer.
The Art of Matisse: A Four-Day Art & LIVE Jazz Experience for
9-12 year-olds
August 31 – September 3
12:30 PM – 3:00 PM
@Greenwich Art Society Studio Classroom/299 Greenwich Ave.
This unique 4-day camp is based on Mary Newcomb’s nationally recognized Mingled Arts® program, which combines visual art, live music, storytelling, and hands-on learning.
Students will:
·Experience LIVE performances by a professional jazz trio
·Discover how jazz music influenced Matisse's creativity
·will describe what was happening historically during his lifetime.
·Create original artworks inspired by Henri Matisse's famous cut-paper compositions
·Explore art history through engaging, age-appropriate activities
·Participate in interactive rhythm and music experiences—no musical experience necessary
This is a rare opportunity for children to immerse themselves in the worlds of art and music while learning about one of the most beloved artists of the 20th century.
Because professional musicians are involved, enrollment is limited and we must reach a minimum number of 12 students in order to run the program. To provide this unique experience, including professional musicians and specialized materials, we must reach a minimum enrollment by August 1.
Tuition: $660 per student
If you are interested in reserving a place for your child, please let us know as soon as possible so we can finalize plans and secure the musicians. Call the GAS office to register -- 203.629.1533, or email admin@greenwichartsociety.org
We hope your child can join us for this memorable creative experience!
