From Rye Free Reading Room:
Every country has its own variation of gingerbread. However Germany has the most enduring tradition for using gingerbread to create fantastic dessert creations. One such creation was the gingerbread house. These were beautiful houses that were decorated with all types of good things to eat. During this session you will hear a short story about the gingerbread house and each child will make his/her own version of a small edible gingerbread house.
Program presented by art instructor, Bertha Smith.
