Artist Reception for Rye Native Sally Tobin

“Places to Go, People to Meet,” a show of paintings of scenes and people from around the world by Sally Tobin, is on exhibit at the Rye Free Reading Room from May 12 through June 29.  A reception for the artist will be held on Saturday, June 4, from 2 to 4 p.m.  A Rye native, Tobin has been practicing her art since excelling in finger painting in nursery school.  She holds a degree in Studio Art from Mount Holyoke College.  After leaving a career in illustration and computer graphics to raise a family, the artist turned to watercolors and has a thriving business in painting portraits of houses, boats and pets.  She enjoys traveling and draws artistic inspiration from the places she visits.
