Two elder masters of jazz, tenor saxophonist and composer Benny Golson and guitarist Gene Bertoncini, will play together for the first time on Sunday, March 6th at noon, for a Sunday Jazz Brunch fundraiser in Rye, New York at Wainwright House, produced by G&J Productions.
For several years Wainwright House—the oldest non-profit, non-sectarian holistic learning center in the nation—has held Sunday jazz brunches in winter featuring excellent local musicians. For this final brunch of winter, the Wainwright board selected G&J Productions to produce a fundraiser for Wainwright House featuring artists of world renown.
The delectable menu of food and beverages will be provided by Corner Stone Caterers, based in Rye for 15+ years.

Benny Golson is an internationally famous jazz legend—a composer, arranger, lyricist, producer, and tenor saxophonist of world note. He’s written numerous standards for the jazz repertoire and has recorded over 30 albums for many recording companies in the United States and Europe under his own name and innumerable ones with other major artists. A prodigious writer, Golson has written well over 300 compositions. For more than 55 years, Golson has enjoyed an illustrious career in which he’s not only made scores of recordings but has also composed and arranged music for: Art Blakey, Count Basie, John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Sammy Davis Jr., Ella Fitzgerald, Dizzy Gillespie, Benny Goodman, Lionel Hampton, Shirley Horn, David Jones and the Monkees, Quincy Jones, Peggy Lee, Carmen McRae, Anita O'Day, Itzhak Perlman, Oscar Peterson, Lou Rawls, Mickey Rooney, Diana Ross, Mel Torme, and George Shearing.
Gene Bertoncini is one of the finest jazz guitarists active today. His fluid technique and lyricism have won him international accolades as the "Segovia of jazz." An eloquent and versatile improviser, Mr. Bertoncini has been heard with an extraordinary range of jazz greats, including performances and recordings with Benny Goodman, Buddy Rich, Wayne Shorter, Hubert Laws, Paul Desmond among others, as well as such distinguished singers as Tony Bennett, Lena Horne, Nancy Wilson, Vic Damone, and Eydie Gorme.
