Country Music Star and Author, Rosanne Cash, will visit the Rye Free Reading Room on Tuesday, May 17, for a discussion about her life and music with CBS correspondent Anthony Mason.
From Rye Free Reading Room:
"Cash, who is the eldest daughter of superstar Johnny Cash and a Grammy winner in her own right, wrote about the joys and pains of growing up in her father’s giant shadow and of trying to emerge with an identity of her own in her 2010 memoir Composed. The critically acclaimed book appeared on The New York Times and Washington Post bestseller lists.
Her own ever-creative career has produced twelve albums to date including Right or Wrong, King’s Record Shop and The List. She has had eleven number one country singles, notably “Seven Year Ache,” and won the 1985 Grammy for Best Female Country Vocal Performance for “I Don’t Know Why You Don’t Want Me.” Her music often reflects a fusion of country, rock, roots and pop genres."
