“Growing Up Global: Raising Children to be at Home in the World” will be explored by Homa Sabet Tavangar at the March 30 Heard in Rye Speaker Series lecture. The event will be held at Blind Brook High School starting at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free. Everyone is welcome.
Ms. Tavangar will provide parents with a rich, exciting background for exploring a vital global perspective with their children. She will stimulate thinking about how to use music, movies, books, service activities and the web to expand a family’s world view.

An engaging speaker, Ms. Tavangar is the widely-praised author of Growing Up Global, which was named a “Best New Parenting Book” by Scholastic Parent & Child magazine. The mother of three, she has spent her career helping governments develop globally oriented programs and advising businesses on how to thrive abroad.
For 11 years, the Heard in Rye speaker series has provided parents with strategies for raising children in today’s society. The series is sponsored by the parents’ organizations and PTA’s of public and independent schools in Rye, Mamaroneck, and Rye Brook, as well as the Rye YMCA, Rye Youth Council, Rye Free Reading Room and Rye PBA.
