Why Whales are Weird at Meeting House

For an exciting adventure in science, don't miss Rye’s own internationally recognized research scientist and TV star of science programming, Joy Reidenberg, PhD on Why Whales are Weird. She will speak about her pioneering research focused on the anatomy of whales, dolphins and porpoises -- especially in understanding how they produce sounds and withstand the pressures of diving.

Dr. Reidenberg is a dynamic speaker, and her research often appears on television, such as the Discovery Channel's "The Science of Whales," National Geographic's "Humpbacks: Breaking the Code, " and "Inside Nature's Giants" on PBS, earning her an enthusiastic following.

Sponsored by the Committee to Save the Bird Homestead, co-sponsored by the Rye Historical Society, the Friends of Read Sanctuary, and the Friends of Marshlands. The presentation will take place at the Meeting House, 624 Milton Road. Admission is $5 per person.
