Join fellow aspiring fiction writers one Tuesday evening a month at the Rye Free Reading Room to discuss new and on-going projects and trade tips on writing strategies. "Writers in Motion" participants meet to read and critique each other's work in an informal and supportive atmosphere. As a rule works-in-progress are circulated in advance so that participants may prepare critiques. The next meeting is on September 21 at 6:45 p.m., and newcomers are welcome to introduce themselves and bring a short piece of fiction to share if they wish.
Kathryn Merrifield, who leads the group, has worked both in book publishing at Random House, Inc. and entertainment at International Creative Management. She has participated in writing workshops at Columbia University and The Writer's Voice and is currently working on a novel.
