Full Moon Lore We’re in for a treat of the full moon this Saturday. Not only is there a full moon, but an eclipse as well. A lunar eclipse invites changes. They bring a period of ending or beginning. Even if the eclipse does not appear in your particular sign, you can watch all the action around you, as in other people’s drama. I never said it would be pretty. So what does this actually mean? Well to some law enforcement officers and emergency room technicians, a full moon Saturday night could mean chaos. Think about it; the moon’s gravitational pull of the planet’s waters create the tides. A human is 98% water, and whether or not we believe it, we are affected. In the mood? Feeling a little loony? A little emotional, perhaps? Could be the moon phase. A full moon in a particular zodiac sign lends us some of that sign’s characteristics. It’s fleeting, not always noticeable. Although the Sun is in Gemini, the moon will be in Sagittarius, the calendar opposite. It will be for two days, as the moon changes signs roughly every two days. By Monday, the 27th, the moon will be waning in Capricorn, but that’s another story… Right – back to Sagittarius. This is a good time for studying, teaching and expansion of our personal interests. We are enthusiastic, more optimistic and we can reclaim our vitality. Go for that walk, or start that exercise plan. We can “borrow” some of Sagittarius’ energy for travel, collaboration, spontaneity and adventure. Have a ball! In some pagan traditions, the moon is symbolic of the Goddess. Her three phases of Maiden, Mother Crone is reflective of the moon’s phases, waxing, full, waning. For a moment, think of the new moon as that phase between the waning and waxing. There’s no light reflected from the sun; an energetic blank slate, so to speak. At the full moon, she is most receptive of our intentions, and petitions. She has culminated all our wishes we made at the new moon, and subsequent two weeks, and brings them to fruition by the full moon. When we are conscience of the energy, we get to work with it, in harmony. Makes planning events a little easier. Our full moon this spring is the consummation of the intentions we put forth 2 weeks ago at the new moon. We give thanks to Creator/trix for all we’re received, thus far; a roof over hour head, food in our bellies, and all the lessons life has given us, especially the hard ones. A little gratitude goes a long way. Be well, and enjoy your MOON!
