Jay Day Celebration and Hudson River Ramble

September 27 from 11AM-3PM. Come celebrate American tradition at the home of founding father John Jay, on Boston Post Road

The Hudson River Ramble and Jay Day are coming up soon! Follow NY’s Path Through History to our front door in Rye, NY. The Jay Heritage Center (JHC) will host Jay Day! on Sunday, September 27th from 11am - 3pm celebrating American culture and traditions. Highlights will include pony rides, costumed tours, and vivid storytelling.

The event is organized by JHC’s Auxiliary, the Preservationists, a group of parents committed to the adaptive reuse of John Jay’s landmark home as a community resource and learning center.

There’ll be face-painting, falconry and a farmers market - crisp autumn apples to munch on and cider to sip, balloon twisters, music on the veranda, painting pumpkins and coring apples. The Jay Estate was once itself a working dairy farm with plentiful crops and gardens. And at the 1907 Carriage House, families can participate in an archaeology class and see a sustainable dollhouse. But it’s also just fine to sit in our wicker rockers on the veranda to drink in the unequaled view of New York State’s oldest man-managed meadow a vista famously dubbed “a time funnel” to the past.
