Lee Woodruff to Speak at Westchester Land Trust Event in Rye Nov. 13

Woodruff is the author of "Perfectly Imperfect – A Life in Progress," "Those We Love Most," and co-author of "In an Instant."

The following announcement is from Bedford Hills-based Westchester Land Trust:

Westchester Land Trust (WLT), the region’s leading conservation organization, will hold a Fall Wine Tasting & Cocktail Party on Thursday, November 13th from 7pm to 9pm at the Wainwright House in Rye, NY. The venue has been a Holistic Center since 1951 and is recognized as an official Certified Wildlife Habitat by the National Wildlife Federation. The picturesque setting and breathtaking waterside views will serve as the perfect backdrop for this event, which will welcome WLT’s friends and supporters.

New York Times Best-Selling author and CBS This Morning Contributor, Lee Woodruff, will be the special guest-speaker. Lee has authored Perfectly Imperfect – A Life in Progress, Those We Love Most, and co-authored In an Instant. She is also the co-founder of the Bob Woodruff Foundation which assists injured service members and their families.

In addition to hors d’oeuvres, there will be a wine tasting and pouring coordinated by Wine at Five (Rye, NY). Attendees will have the opportunity to select and order wine at the event and Wine at Five will donate 10% of the purchase price to the Westchester Land Trust.

Event proceeds will benefit WLT’s continued efforts to permanently protect land in Westchester and southeastern Putnam counties. WLT’s work impacts the long term health of these communities through the preservation of water resources, air quality, food supply, and wildlife habitats, as well as making protected open space available for passive recreation and scenic viewsheds. In total, WLT has protected more than 8,000 acres of open space, including 660 acres of preserves owned by our organization.
