Legislation Would Enable Rye Park Commission To Offer Long-Term Leases

Currently, the state has to approve leases longer than three years.

RYE, NY — Legislation introduced in Albany could enable the Rye Town Park Commission to negotiate long-term leases for food-service contracts. As it stands now, state law mandates the commission get state approval for leases longer than three years.

Commissioner Gary Zuckerman said the legislation would give the commission a more successful request-for-proposal process by offering leases up to 10 years, the Journal News said.

Senator George Latimer, D-Rye, and Assemblyman Steve Otis, D-Rye, introduced the legislation.
