Martin Luther King Day - Literary Celebration with AWAH
On Martin Luther King Day, attend a literature celebration event hosted by the American Women of African Heritage at the Jay Heritage Center

On Monday, January 18, 2016, the American Women of African Heritage will be hosting their annual literature celebration at the Jay Heritage Center on Boston Post Road in Rye, New York.
This “feast of factual and fictitious prose” will be delivered by four African American authors. Previous speakers have included Jeff Burns, Jr., author of “The Brotherhood of Drew Hall”, Dr. Daniel Black, author of “Perfect Peace”, and Caroline Clarke, author of “Postcards from Cookie.”
The Literary Celebration provides an occasion to present literature to the public and to offer dynamic narratives by African American writers who have contributed to our rich culture. Each author is known locally and nationally for the transformative power of their literature and its significant impact on our society at large.
