Opening Day At Playland Pushed Back

RYE, NY — If your Memorial Day Weekend plans involve a visit to Playland, we suggest a re-watching of "National Lampoon's Vacation" instead.

Rye Playland now says they will be opening for the 2022 season on Thursday, June 9. It was previously announced that the park would open in May.

The hours on Opening Day will be from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. The park will be weekends only until June 21 and will then be open daily from June 21 - September 6. The park will return to weekends only September 9 - September 25.

"We're so excited for you to see all the hard work that has gone into revitalizing this beloved community treasure," the park said on its social media pages.

The park said that guests will see the updates to the park, like the new arcade, new Midway Games and three new bathroom facilities.

Season pass holders who purchased prior to May 3 will receive a 25 percent refund because of the shortened season. The refund will be posted automatically to the card used as original payment. An email with a new QR code confirmation will be sent in the next ten business days.

You can still purchase a discounted 2022 Playland Season Pass here. The pass includes unlimited rides and admissions with no blackout days for any public operating days.

Customers will also have the option to go cashless when buying the season pass. Cash values can be selected and added to the pass, to be used towards food, beverages, games and more. Values can be split between multiple season passes when claiming the Season Pass souvenir wristband, if purchasing more than one.

The 2022 Playland Season Pass pre-sale price is $84.99 for both county residents and non-residents. The cashless options for the wristband will be $10, $25, $50 and $100.

The following admission prices, with discounts for county residents, will be:

• General admission & Ride Pass:
  • Regular: $34.99 (Westchester County residents: $24.99)
  • Junior (48" & under): $24.99 (Westchester County residents: $14.99)
• Spectator Pass:
  • Regular: $14.99 (Westchester County residents: $4.99)

Parking prices will be:

• Weekday: $12.00
• Saturday & Sunday: $15.00
• Holidays: $20.00
