Parker Drops Out Of Race To Replace Lowey In Congress
The Westchester County legislator will still be on the ballot June 23.

RYE, NY — There is one less candidate vying to replace longtime Rep. Nita Lowey and represent the 17th congressional district in Rockland and part of Westchester counties. Westchester County Legislator Catherine Parker said she is ending her campaign for the congressional seat.
She said her campaign was overshadowed by the new coronavirus crisis and subsequent economic shutdown, the Journal News reported.
Parker represents District 7 in the county and covers Harrison, Larchmont, Mamaroneck, New Rochelle and Rye.

Parker's name will still appear on the ballot for the June 23. Also appearing on the ballot for the Democratic primary will be Mondaire Jones, Adam P. Schleifer, Allison H. Fine, Asha Castleberry, David Buchwald, Evelyn Farkas and David Carlucci, according to the state Board of Elections primary certification.
There is also a Republican primary for the 17th Congressional District between Maureen McArdle Schulman and Yehudis Gottesfeld.
