Pedestrian Critically Injured After Being Struck by 2 Cars

The incident occurred Sunday on Purchase Street in Rye.

A 51-year-old man was critically injured Sunday after he was hit by two cars as he tried to cross Purchase Street in Rye, according to police.

The Journal News reports the incident occurred at about 6:30 p.m. The man was first hit by a car driven by a 65-year-old Rye resident traveling southbound, and then by a car driven by a 78-year-old Rye Brook resident driving northbound. Neither driver has been charged.

Police said the man suffered multiple injuries, including head injuries, and is being treated at Westchester County Medical Center.
