Playland In Rye Celebrates Heroes With Free First Responders Weekend

Police, firefighters and emergency medical service providers who show ID will be rewarded with free admission to the iconic amusement park.

RYE, NY — Everybody deserves a day off — even those whose job it is to keep the rest of us safe. This year, as the anniversary of the September 11 attacks approaches, Playland Park is helping to say "thank you" by offering free admission to the iconic shoreside amusement park all weekend long for first responders.

Playland has announced it will be saluting local area heroes with a special "First Responders Weekend" this Saturday and Sunday. Police, fire & rescue, and emergency medical service providers at the local, county or state level will receive free admission. A valid ID badge will be required.

Park hours on Saturday, Sept. 10, will be from noon - 10 p.m. Hours on Sunday, Sept. 11, will be from noon - 8 p.m.
