Woman-in-Labor Lie Ends in Drug Charges for Stranded Driver
A Connecticut resident was stopped on I-95 in Rye and thought he would get faster roadside service.

RYE, NY - New York State Police arrested a Greenwich, CT man Monday in Rye after responding to a report of a woman in labor on I-95.
When troopers located the vehicle between exits 19 and 20, they found Daniel B. Traisman, 30, alone in the car.
Police said Traisman admitted he made up the “pregnant wife” story so he could get faster roadside service.

The Connecticut resident was allegedly in possession of cocaine, two glass pipes containing burned cocaine residue and clonazepam pills.

Clonazepam is a schedule IV controlled substance used to treat anxiety.
Traisman was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony, and two misdemeanor charges—seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree falsely reporting an incident.
He was arraigned in the CIty of Rye Court and sent to Westchester County Jail without bail.
