Rye, Blind Brook/Rye Schools Approved 2016-17 Budgets

Voters in the Rye school district approved the proposed budget in the amount of $85,064,873 for the 2016-17 school year, according to unofficial results.

School officials said the vote was 1,165-365 in favor of the budget.

Also on the ballot was a proposal to pay for a furnace replacement at Osborn. It was approved 1,224-300.

The Board of Education race was uncontested. Jennifer Boyle received 1,270 votes; Katy Keohane Glassberg, 1,206. There were 39 write-in candidates.

Voters in the Blind Brook/Rye school district passed the proposed budget in the amount of $43,226,703 for the 2016-17 school year, according to unofficial results.

Lohud.com said the vote was 370-35 in favor of the budget.

Results for Rye Neck were not available at press time.
