Rye City Council OKs Composting Trial Run
The program will start up in the spring with a limited number of users.

RYE, NY — The City of Rye is the latest Hudson Valley municipality to start a food scrapping program. At its November meeting, the Rye City Council OK'd a six-month municipal composting program which will start sometime in the spring.
The program, which will be capped at 150 users, will be experimental and the city will collect data on how much it costs and how much food waste is recycled, the Journal News said.
A $5,000 grant from NYSERDA will help to support the program.
