Rye Playland Vote Scheduled for Monday by County Legislators

RYE, NY - Whether a private company will take over managing Rye Playland will be voted on Monday by the Westchester County Board of Legislators.

The BOL will meet at 7 p.m. in the Legislative Chamber, 148 Martine Ave., 8th Floor, in White Plains.

Legislators have an impending agreement with Standard Amusements to begin managing the county-owned park.

The company wants the county to pay for 11 capital projects that would help spruce up the aging facility.

Rye resident Deidre Curran has contributed two open posts with information related to the possible management that would assume control of Playland if the county OKs the deal.

Renovations for the park were originally priced at $58 million but the 30-year agreement now calls for taxpayers to pay $32 million.
