Rye Playland Vote Scheduled for Monday by County Legislators

The issue is who will manage the aging county park.

RYE, NY - Whether a private company will take over managing Rye Playland will be voted on Monday by the Westchester County Board of Legislators.

The BOL will meet at 7 p.m. in the Legislative Chamber, 148 Martine Ave., 8th Floor, in White Plains.

Legislators have an impending agreement with Standard Amusements to begin managing the county-owned park.

The company wants the county to pay for 11 capital projects that would help spruce up the aging facility.

Renovations for the park were originally priced at $58 million but the 30-year agreement now calls for taxpayers to pay $32 million.
