Rye Teacher Carin Mehler Gives First Interview Since Testing Scandal
One of the elementary school teachers at the heart of a testing scandal recently sat down with The Journal News.

Rye elementary school teacher Carin Mehler, one of four teachers removed from their classrooms and accused of “improperly coaching” students as part of a testing scandal, recently gave an exclusive interview to The Journal News.
In it, she continues to ask what she did wrong, and discusses what she’s been doing since May of 2013 when she, Dana Coppola, Shannon Gold and Gail Topol were reassigned.
“They never questioned me, never asked me to explain anything,” Mehler told The Journal News. She has a pending lawsuit against the district. “And I have no way of defending myself.”
