Opinion: Sack doesn't think (11) City Managers in 15 years represents a systemic problem. Really Joe?

Could it be that Sack may be deaf, dumb and blind to what has been going on in the City of Rye?

This is Sack being quoted in the Rye City Review today:

“The city manager position has plagued Rye for some time. In April 2014, then City Manager Scott Pickup resigned from his position after accepting a separation agreement with the city. Pickup had been associated with several high profile scandals since taking over the position in 2010. Sack said some of the candidates this time around were aware of the recent history regarding the position and subsequent controversies in Rye but none expressed concern about it impeding their ability to potentially do the job. “Those situations were individual situations,” Sack said. “They weren’t systemic. Rye remains a prestigious community.””

Here are but a few examples of the systemic problems in Rye Joe:

-Caspi. $1,500,000 in settlements costs and legal fees( some of which went to Joe’s buddies).-

-Falk allegedly placing official police investigative documents and records relevant to an ongoing criminal case next to his daughter’s softball team roster and then “found” these records 10 years later in the “Caspi” folder.

The federal judge called this a smoking gun. Very prestigious Joe.

-Kristen Wilson represented Falk in the Caspi matter and then Sack having Wilson investigate allegations of wrongdoing by Falk in the Caspi matter.-

Some might call this a conflict. Very prestigious Joe.

  • -A recent $20,000 payoff to settle allegations that the Rye PD violated somebody else’s civil rights.-

Some might find this disturbing. Very prestigious Joe.

-Nodarse being accused of a felony by the Rye PBA regarding a FOIL Request while she was the Rye Golf Club records access officer. Not only does Connors and the City of Rye not investigate this serious felony allegation, Sack then makes Nodarse the official overall City of Rye Records Access Officer.

Some might call this outrageous. Very prestigious Joe.

City Manager Culross proclaims the Rye Fire Department is staffed for failure. Sack’s response? He ignores Culross thereby needlessly and carelessly putting the lives of our citizens as well as our Professional and Volunteers Firefighters in harms way.

Some might call this negligence or even bizarre behavior. Very prestigious Joe.

Novak. Prestigious Joe?

Shew. Prestigious Joe?

Pickup. Prestigious Joe?
