Standard Amusements Files For Bankruptcy
The company had an agreement to take over management of the park, but the county wanted to cancel the contract.

RYE, NY — The company that was at one time going to take over management of the county-owned Playland amusement park has filed for bankruptcy. Standard Amusements said that without the contract with Westchester County the company would have no other source of income.
In a Chapter 11 filing, Standard said it was asking the court to block the county from terminating its agreement, the Journal News said.
In April, Westchester County notified Standard that it was ending the agreement to have the company take over managing Playland. The contract was supposed to be ended Tuesday.
