RYE, NY — The case of the stolen geodes has been cracked, according to police.

On March 25, Rye detectives got a tip from a member of the public about the grand larceny investigation at the Rye Arts Center. That tip led detectives to a Facebook Marketplace seller who was selling geodes in close proximity to Rye. The geodes were positively identified as the same geodes stolen from the Arts Center a week prior, according to police.

Rye detectives were able to set up an undercover buy operation.
